World Mental Health Day 🌎
Yesterday in school we celebrated World Mental Health day and raised awareness for the importance of keeping our minds healthy as well as our bodies. Throughout the school we had a range of activities to promote good mental health:
P1/2- visited the sensory room and explored all the amazing resources to help our minds relax and completed sensory crafts in the classroom.
P3/4/5- completed arts and crafts to explore ways in which they can keep their whole bodies healthy and what they can do when they are feeling overwhelmed or anxious.
P6/7- watched a short video on promoting good mental health and discussed ways they can be kind to their minds. They then had a relaxing afternoon, taking a break from busy lessons and created some calming nature portraits after collecting some leaves and foliage in our beautiful natural surroundings. This task was accompanied with some mindful/calming music. The boys and girls loved all their activities and have gained some valuable life skills.
