This week in Primary 3, 4 and 5 we have continued our art project on famous artists and portraits as part of our World around topic “Mighty Me” This week we looked at the Weeping woman by Pablo Picasso. The children enjoyed creating the abstract facial features and use of straight lines and bright colours to create quirky portraits.
In Numeracy we have been learning all about money; sorting, counting, working out change, adding up totals and practicing recording amounts. Children have been doing this practically, with cut and stick, on the IPad and Interactive Panel board and on paper. I think the children most enjoyed us borrowing some toys from the Foundation stage and setting up a shop. There was a lot of buying and selling going on today.
Today we also welcomed a new member to the class in Primary 4. Alina has just moved into the area and received a lovely warm welcome in St Malachy’s already.
