P6/7 have been exploring the importance of keeping safe online. We have discussed the importance of alerting adults to anything unusual and not to talk to strangers online. We watched videos on C2K Newsdesk and discussed ways of using the internet safely and later we had a debate about the advantages and disadvantages of using the internet.
The boys and girls had a great understanding of the dangers and are all aware of what to do in order to stay safe.
We watched a live video with Liverpool Football Club and listened to advice from ‘Red’ the internet safety mascot and all of the players. We later designed our own posters to put up around school so that all of the children in St Malachy’s stay safe online.
