Today P6/7 took advantage of the beautiful weather and headed outside for our art lesson. The children have been looking at different patterns and symmetry in our shape and space topic of Numeracy and have been learning about different cultures and traditions around the world. We worked in groups to create our own rangoli patterns, which are associated with the festival of light, Diwali.
Rangoli patterns are often designed to be symmetrical. They combine straight lines, curved lines and images like flowers and other things from nature. The symmetry of the designs in a symbol of prosperity, growth and luck
We were exploring colour, texture and mark making. Our playground looks beautiful boys and girls- you are all very creative!
