This week the boys and girls in P6/7 have been working extremely hard in all areas of the curriculum. In Literacy we have been looking at the features of non-fiction texts, in particular recounts. We have discovered recounts can take many forms. Today we created our own eye witness recounts and used our success criteria to make sure we had included all features. We used lots of language features such adverbials, kept chronological order and organised our work into paragraphs. In Numeracy we have been developing number and mental maths including fractions and square/cube numbers. We used IZAK 9 to apply our learning and worked with our groups to solve problems.
In World Around Us this week we have been creating posters on climate change which are now entered into the NMD Council schools competition. We had some fantastic ideas on ways in which we can help stop global warming and we had some great discussions.
