This week KS2 went to Down Museum to participate in an Archaeology workshop with Queen’s University Belfast. Our topic this term is Ireland and this was an excellent opportunity to develop our knowledge and understanding of the local area and about our past. The children had great fun and are now looking forward to taking part in an archaeological dig with the team at a local site next month, in a hope to find some artefacts from the time of John De Courcy and the Normans.
Following our workshop, we went to visit St Patrick’s grave and had a quick tour of the Cathedral. It was a great day out for the children and brilliant to see them engaged in their local history.
