Our P6/7 class have signed up to complete the Irish News Young Readers newspaper project which runs for the next eight weeks. The project is specifically designed to develop pupils' critical literacy skills and introduce them to the world of news.
Each week each child receives their own newspaper and we carry out a range of different activities. This week the boys and girls had to look at the different features and vocabulary used in reports and advertisements. The focus of this week was ‘well-being’ which has linked well with Children’s Mental Health Week.
