The children in Kilclief have been learning about fair trade over the last two weeks. Fair trade fortnight runs for two week every year at the end of February and start of March. It’s aim is to transform the farming industry of products like coffee, cocoa and bananas and to ensure that farmers get a fair deal for the food they grow. The children began by watching a power point on fair trade at the start of the fortnight before doing different activities in their own classes. They heard stories, researched fair trade products and created posters to advertise and inform others about the benefits of fair trade. Well done boys and girls. Remember to look out for the different fair trade logos on food packages and fruit stickers in the future.
