On Thursday morning and afternoon P3/4/5 and then P6/7 had the absolute pleasure of welcoming staff from Nerve Centre Belfast to carry out a coding work shop. This is a new workshop created alongside Northern Irish author Oliver Jeffers called ‘Our Place in Space’. During this workshop children had the opportunity to create a space scene with different ‘Sprites’ using the App ‘Scratch Junior’. The staff from Nerve were very impressed with the children’s ICT skills, observing that many were working beyond their age level! The children thoroughly enjoyed their session, and learned lots of new skills (as did the staff!). Many thanks to all those at Nerve for giving us this fantastic opportunity!
