Learning Support
Some pupils may experience difficulties in learning for a variety of reasons. Our learning support programme has been set up to address the needs of children who are experiencing difficulties.
There are a number of approaches we adopt including:
- We liaise closely with the school psychologist, ASD support, behaviour support team at the Education Authority and other outside agencies to assist and advise
- Individual Education Plans are prepared and shared with parents and pupils
- Our classroom assistants and reading partnership volunteers provide literacy, numeracy and mental health & wellbeing support for identified pupils
- As part of our Recovery Programme after COVID 19, we have put in place an extensive Learning Support schedule to assist pupils with gaps in learning due to extended periods at home
- The learning support programmes are tailored to pupil needs and give our children opportunities to progress in key areas of learning
